All mums know how essential (and rare!) me-time is. Me-time is NOT selfish, it’s self care! Mum to mum, let’s inspire each other and break the bad habit of ignoring our personal needs.
Here are some of my favourite me-time indulgences:
- Reading
Sometimes I am lucky enough to read a chapter or two of a book without being interrupted, I try to read as much as I can, my ‘books to read’ list just keeps growing!
- Crochet
Crochet is something I have only very recently taught myself how to do, l find it very relaxing and I like the endless things I can make with just a hook and some yarn! I enjoy teaching and learning myself new things.
- Catching up on tv shows
I watch A LOT of tv shows. Box sets, dramas, soaps, I often find that I’m behind on them so I try to binge watch as much as I can.
- Tea/Coffee
Sometimes making myself a cup of tea or a cup of coffee is all the relaxation I need.
Just remember that me-time is supposed to be all about you. When we take care of ourselves, we are better equipped to handle whatever life throws our way…
Well, at least we’ll be in a better mood when it does.
So how about you? What are your favourite me-time indulgences?
Too bad the only times I get any “me time” is after my little one (Danny) goes to sleep. And by then, I’m pretty beat so it’s not much time!

Me too! I used to try and have some time to myself when Kory would nap during the day which he doesn’t do anymore. At bedtime I have to choose, do I want sleep or do I finally want time to be able to do something? 😄

yep, that sounds about right! Im in the same boat right now. I miss those nap times. Danny still naps, but at the most inconvienant times for me. lol. still getting used to when nap time is. for example, I thought he was going to nap right now, he fell asleep, I snuck out of the room, and 10 minutes later when I came back, he was wide awake, smiling at me, ready to play! *Sigh* Im so tired!!!!
