Isn’t it nice when others tell you what a good job you must be doing

Kory was being a very well behaved boy whilst we were eating our dinner in a cafe the other day and two ladies actually commented and said what a good job I must be doing raising my son.

It made me feel really good.

And proud. Proud of myself and proud of the little boy Kory is growing into.

Whoever those two ladies are, I just wanted to say thank you. You didn’t need to say what you said, it was kind of you to say that to me and I really appreciate it. Without realising it you made a mum who doubts herself every day and often wonders whether or not she’s even capable of doing this whole mum thing feel a whole lot better about herself.

And thank you, Kory for actually letting your mum enjoy a cup of tea whilst it was still hot!

Isn’t it nice when others tell you what a good job you must be doing raising your child? Not that I need constant recognition from other people, in fact no one (except my partner) ever really tells me what a good job I’m doing and I still get up every single day and do the best that I can because I’m a mum and that’s what we do but it was nice to hear that from an outsiders point of view. Not only that but it was also a nice change from the usual judgement that can sometimes come with parenting!

I think we’ll go to the cafe more often…
